Correct Schooling improves the horses fitness as well as their overall muscle development and suppleness.  Horses that have been schooled are far less likely to develop dipped backs and other muscle weaknesses because schooling will help them carry themselves in a balanced and co-ordinated way resulting in less strain and reducing the risk of back pain.

 

It is the responsibility of the rider to maintain their own fitness level in order to school and educate the horse correctly.  Improving your own balance and stamina will in turn result in a better position in the saddle and help you become a more effective rider.  Having a personal trainer can significantly help you reach your own health and fitness goals.

 

EquiFIT run a group exercise class every Wednesday evening from 7-8pm at Hororata Community Hall, Hororata.
